Iranian blockbuster ‘The Salesman’ has been scheduled to screen in the Asian country of Malaysia.
Directed by renowned Iranian director Asghar Farhadi, the Oscar-winning flick is to premiere in Malaysia today.
‘The Salesman’ won the award for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 69th edition of the Academy Awards last week.
This is the second time that Asghar Farhadi won an Oscar. In 2012, he became the first Iranian to win the prestigious award for his film ‘A Separation’, which also won the Best Foreign Language award.
‘The Salesman’ tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.
The film stars Iranian actress Taraneh Alidoosti and actor Shahab Hosseini.
Hosseini won best actor at the Cannes Film Festival in Italy last year. ‘The Salesman’ also won best screenplay at Cannes.
